Butterfly Overskirt

So named because the points of the skirt flutter like butterfly wings. For this basic version:
  1. Cut a square of fabric from 45" or larger material.
  2. Mark the center of the fabric square by folding the fabric into quarters and putting a safety pin at the center point.
  3. Make a pattern for the waist opening by following the directions on the circle-skirt page.
  4. Add a waistband and elastic following directions on the Making Yokes page.
